Can existing Bose Headphones 700 be upgraded to the “UC” version?
Existing Headphones 700 cannot be upgraded to the UC version. However, owners of the Headphones 700 should continue to update their Headphones 700s with the latest firmware available. The same firmware that will come pre-installed on the UC headset will be available to all existing Headphones 700 owners.

Will the Bose USB Link Bluetooth module be available to be purchased separately?
Yes. The Bose USB Link module can be purchased on its own to pair with Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 purchased separately. With the Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 UC, the Bose USB Link Bluetooth module will come pre-paired to the headphones.

How are the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 UC different from existing Noise Cancelling Headphones 700?
The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 UC build upon the innovation of the Bose Headphones 700. They utilize the same adaptive eight-microphone system to offer 11 levels of noise cancellation, which can be selected using the Bose Music app, with the added benefit of the pre-paired Bose USB Link Bluetooth module and certification for use with Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. The USB Link allows users to stay reliably connected to their computer and to easily toggle between computer and mobile phone.

What does UC mean?
UC means unified communications. It indicates use with unified communication platforms that offer audio and visual elements, in addition to other collaboration tools, for meetings with remote participants. This addition to the name of the existing Headphones 700 is to indicate that these are similar in functionality to the consumer headset but are intended for the workplace where you are communicating via unified communication platforms, such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or Zoom.

How do I pair Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 UC with my mobile device?
First, make sure your headphones are turned on with a single press of the upper button on the back of the right earcup. Next, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to put the headphones into pairing mode. Please note, if this is your first time connecting the headphones, they will automatically turn on right into this pairing mode. Voice prompts will provide you with additional guidance. We recommend you use the Bose Music app to complete the pairing process, however, you can also use the Bluetooth settings on your device.

When the Bose USB Link Bluetooth module is plugged into your computer, and both your computer and the Headphones 700 UC are powered on, you will be able to easily change audio sources from mobile device to personal computer.

Can I be connected to two devices at the same time, for example a computer using the USB Link Module and a mobile phone?
Yes. The Headphones 700 UC use multipoint Bluetooth technology to connect to two devices at the same time.  Audio or communications from either device can be heard in the Headphones but only from one source at time.

Can I use my USB Link with another pair of Bose Headphones 700 (e.g. from a colleague)?
To ensure the USB Link connects to the proper headphones, we recommend using a dedicated module for each Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 UC in the organization.  An additional set of Headphones 700 can be added to the pairing list of the USB Link; however, it can only be connected to one pair of headphones at a time.

Do I need to install additional software to use the USB link?
The Bose Music app should be used for initial setup of the Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 UC.  To ensure the best performance, we recommend using the Bose USB Link Updater application for Windows and Mac to keep the firmware up to date.

What devices can the Bose USB Link Bluetooth module be used with?
The Bose USB Link Module has been designed and tested for use with the Noise Cancelling Headphones 700.

What is the range of Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 UC?
The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 UC have a range of up to 100 ft (30 meters) from the included USB Link and 33 ft (10 meters) from the source device. This range may be reduced by physical obstructions, such as walls and doors, or by interference from other electronic devices. Pops or a crackling noise may be heard if there’s interference with the Bluetooth connection. If that happens, move away from wireless routers or microwaves and bring your headphones closer to the Bluetooth device.

How do I set up the Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa as my preferred voice assistant?
Voice assistant is available on the Headphones 700 UC when the USB Link is not connected.  Use the Bose Music app to set the lower button on the right earcup to control both Microsoft Teams and one of our voice assistant partners. The app will guide you through the set-up process, allowing you to set up an integrated button access feature that will automatically connect to your voice assistant app.
