Plantronics EncorePro HW520 Dual-Ear Corded Headset
This is a short introduction to the new Plantronics EncorePro HW520 business-grade corded headset. The Plantronics HW20 is a dual-ear headset, so both ears are covered, with a headband that goes over the head. It has a noise-canceling microphone, and it terminates in a quick disconnect.
The quick disconnect is important, because this allows the headset to be used in almost any application. The headset cord does not physically plug into your phone, you need either a quick-disconnect cord or an amplifier to connect to your phone. So when you want to move around, you don’t have to remove your headset, you simply disconnect the cord and then reconnect the cord when you return, leaving the headset in place.
This makes the HW520 very universal; you can use this headset on any application, you just need the right bottom cable or amplifier. The HW520 also comes with a clothing clip, which you can clip to the corner of your shirt or the edge of your collar. This is very helpful, as it makes it so when you turn your head from side to side, it won’t pull the headset, the clothing clip will take up the tension.
The microphone is bendable and flexible, and that is really important to get perfect mic positioning. The microphone is a good noise-canceling microphone; it will cut down on background noise, so that your caller hears your voice over everything else. The HW520 headset works really well in an average-to- loud office environment.
