Wireless Bluetooth Headsets

Wireless Bluetooth Headsets

Mobile phones have become such a major part of our lives, we feel lost without them if left behind at home or work. Users are starting to feel the same way about another device if left behind and look forward to new models as they become available. Welcome to the world of wireless Bluetooth headsets. In the past, you would hold your mobile phone between your ear and shoulder as you tried to rummage through your purse or travel case. The same would hold true if you were writing or typing. Now with most models, you don’t even need to touch your phone. With the headset on your ear, you simply say answer or have it initiate calls with voice commands. Once the call is established, you’re hands-free to tackle any task.

When considering wireless Bluetooth headsets, you need to decide how many devices you will want to pair it with. The basic models will connect to your mobile phone and tablet. If you want to also use the headset with your laptop or PC, purchasing a model which also includes a USB dongle allows you to use the same headset for all of your devices. By simplifying to one headset, you have less to manage in regards to charging, cords, and remembering which button does what.

You will also need to decide on a wearing style with your wireless Bluetooth headsets. Over the ear is most common because it is lightweight and low profile. Typical ear models will include multiple sized ear tips to ensure a secure fit for all-day wearing. If you desire a more substantial model with larger ear cushions to block out background noise, a headband over the head that covers either one ear or both ears should be considered. Single-ear headsets work well if you need to hear what’s going on around you or often talk with co-workers. Dual ear will isolate you, so you will hear your callers better and be able to focus on the call.

Also take note of the range when deciding between wireless Bluetooth headsets. The standard since the inception of Bluetooth was 33 feet. That means if you set your phone on your desk, you can only walk within your private office or within close proximity of your cubicle. Newer models are now extending that range to upwards of 150-200 feet. This gives you more freedom to roam to other parts of your business to talk with co-workers, retrieve necessary documents, or secure a conference room for a private conversation.
