Plantronics has been a trusted source for mission-critical headsets since their inception in 1961. None were as important, or on a bigger stage, in the company's early history as that of the moon landing in 1969. Most don’t realize those famous words "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" were heard through a Plantronics headset. Jumping to today’s mission-critical applications brings us to aviation headsets, and the importance of quality, comfort, and durability.
With a proud heritage from which to build, Plantronics has a specific product line of aviation headsets you will find to meet all your needs. When choosing a headset, you will need to decide if covering one ear or two is your preferred wearing style. With monaural or single-ear headsets, you can easily communicate with the tower while keeping one ear open to talk to others in the cockpit. This means once you position the headset during preflight, you won’t touch it again until you’re ready to take it off. With binaural or dual-ear aviation headsets, both ears are covered, which gives you the ability to focus on your conversations with the tower while drowning out engine noise or other background distractions. Should you have passengers or co-pilots you need to converse with, you can reposition one speaker to rest behind your ear, carry on a normal conversation, then replace the speaker once finished.
All Plantronics aviation headsets are FAA approved and include a convenient carrying case. Standard units will terminate with 2 plugs (PJ055 and PJ068), with other configurations available upon request, like the 1 plug PJ608, or the 1 plug XLR5 for Airbus. Most items are available in a few weeks, where specialty plugs will require 8-12 weeks. All units come with a 2-year warranty.
If you have questions, give us a call, and if we don’t have the answers, we can put you in touch with a Plantronics specialist to make sure you are confident the product you're ordering will be the exact configuration you need. We work closely with the Plantronics Specials Department to avoid common pitfalls when working with specialty items.
