The new arm has rubber stabilizers that are designed to sit on either side of the handset thereby helping to improve the reliability & stability of the lift & return function. This is important where the mechanical design of the phone has previously caused problems either because of the high angle of the phone or a lack of mechanical well where the handset microphone sits.
 
In addition to the new arm the kit also contains a specific item designed for use with the Nortel i2004 phones. The curved top & low profile of this phone and handset results in the handset being lifted off hook when the lifter is placed underneath, the hookswitch extension is designed to fit onto the hookswitch (under the handset) to allow the correct operation of the HL10.

Note: This is not exclusive to the i2004 and may also help on phones whose design creates a similar compatibility issue.

This kit is available now as a standalone item and in the future will replace the existing HL10 extension arm as standard. Availability of the HL10 with the new accessories will follow, and information on the implementation of this change will be sent out later in a future bulletin.
