We do not carry any
headsets that will work on a MP-3 with a 3.5mm connection,

Q:
I
just ordered the Plantronics CS55. It came in and works fine. A previous
headset I had used to activate the phone by just taking the headset out
of the cradle. That doesn’t appear to work in this case. Is there
something I’m doing wrong or is this model one in which I must press the
call button to activate?
A:
You
can answer the phone by taking your headset out of the cradle. On the
right hand side of the unit you will see a small switch that you can
move up or down, it shows 1 dash = push button on headset to answer
phone, 2 dashes = leave headset in cradle and when phone rings take
headset out of cradle to answer phone.

Q:
I currently have a CS55 Plantronics
wireless system the volume just isn't loud enough for me to hear. If I
purchased a M22 amplifier. Would it increase the volume of the CS55
system?
A:
You can not use the M22 with the CS55. They are 2 totally
different units. There are several volume
adjustments you can make on the base of the CS55. Here is the link for
the user guide:

Q:
I've read up on the subject headset
and it seems that using it with my Nortel 1120E IP phone would NOT
require an amplifier (although I may need an A10 cord). Is that correct?
The amplifier almost doubles the cost, so if the phone works well
without the amplifier for my single line phone, Please let me know.
A:
In theory,
if your phone has a headset jack (square like on your handset) you can
probably use the A10 cable.

Q:
We have these CS55 headsets. We are
trying to figure out how to transfer a call to another headset and tell
that person who is calling for him before he picks up the call What do I
do next and how will he answer the call?
A:
You can not transfer a call from
the CS55. You will have to go back to your phone and do the same thing
you would do if you were using the handset. There is no way to
transfer from the headset.

Q:
Can you replace the ear bud on the Explorer 340? Mine is barley hanging
on at this time.
A:
That ear bud is not replaceable. It is part of your headset. If the ear
bud breaks you will need to purchase a new headset.

Q: Will the HL10 lifter I have
attached to my old wireless headset (like the CA10) work with the new
wireless headset (like the CS55) I'm purchasing or do I need to buy a
new lifter?
A: If your lifter is working fine, then you just need to disconnect it
from your old unit and plug it into your new wireless
headset. Your set-up instructions will show you the location of where to
connect the lifter (usually next to the A/C power cord). No special
pairing is needed, just make sure it's plugged in all the way.
June 22nd,
2009 - by Alfred
Q: The CA12CD comes with a one year
warranty. Then why is it a non-refundable, non-returnable item and why
does it take so long to get?
A: While it does have a one year warranty (you have to send it in to the
manufacturer for warranty repair),
it is a special made-to-order item. It takes so long to make because it
is not a shelf item, work orders are issued only as needed. The
manufacturer does not accept returns on special order items.

Q: I bought the stereo cable (#
76774-01) for my Voyager 815 and it doesn't work. Why?
A: That cable is for the Voyager 855. Though the two headsets look
identical, the Voyager 815 is not wired for stereo sound, only the 855.

Q: I get a dial tone through my
training adapter (# 03929-63) but no voice. I needed a longer cord than
the one that came with it so I'm using one of my handset cords. What's
my problem?
A: The training adapter requires that you use the cord that came with it
to work properly because the internal wiring is different than your
normal handset cord. That, plus proper installation, should solve your
problem.

Q: Can you use a different Bluetooth headset with your CalistoPro
(other than the one it ships with)?

well as most corded headsets which have the standard 2.5mm plug.

Q: Is there a wireless headset that will work with my vista M22?

different applications. One can not be used with the other.
April 7th,
2009
Q: My old phone system did not need the HL10 when using my
wireless unit. I just pushed a button and it worked, why do I need the
lifter with my current phone?
A: It depends on the phone system you are using. Most phones will need
the lifter to be hands free. There is a compatibility guide product
finder located on our home page. You can check there to see what your
phone will need for corded or wireless solutions.
April 6th,
2009
Q: Your website says an amplifier is
required for the headset. Is that always true and if not, how do I know
when I need an amplifier or a just a cable?
A: The mention of an amplifier is to alert shoppers that they need to
buy more than just the headset to work properly with the phone. You
can sometimes use a direct connect cable, depending on the phone's make
and model. Two ways you can find out what will work with your phone are:
1) Go to our compatibility guide / product finder located in the green
column on the left side of our website. 2) Call our toll free number and
one of our support specialist can assist you in determining what will
work best for you.
April 6th,
2009
Q: Can you answer and hang up from
the CS55H without using your cordless phone?
A: Yes, just push the button on your headset.
April 6th,
2009
Q: I do not like the earloop style on the Calisto Pro, is there an
alternative, like a headband that I can use instead?

exchanged for a headband.

Q: How can I tell if my wireless unit is still under warranty?

A: On the bottom of the Base, you will find the date code. It will
look something like this:
BL713984= B is for the Base, the 2nd Letter = the month the unit was
manufactured; A=Jan, B=Feb, C=March, D=April, E=May, F=June, G=July,
H=Aug, I=Sept, J=Oct, K=Nov, L=Dec. The first number in the group = the
year the unit was manufactured, for example BL713984 = Dec of 2007.
November 18th, 2008
Q: I need a wireless unit with a rugged headset, will the
Plantronics CS55 hold up as well as the CS351N or CS361N?
A: No, the Plantronics CS351N and CS361N are a much better choice for a
rugged environment
November 17th, 2008
Q: Is it possible to use a commercial grade binaural headset with
my cordless phone?
A: The headsets Plantronics designed for cordless phones are all single
ear, either headband or over the ear. Their power requirements are not
as intensive as commercial grade headsets. Cordless phones in general do
not pull out enough power to make commercial grade headsets work
properly. Also, the cords of the commercial grade headsets do not shield
from the interference as well as those made for cordless or mobile
phones.

Q: Will my Voyager 510S work on my computer ?
A: Yes. And since the Voyager 510 headset is Bluetooth, there are a few
possibilities. The first option which is the most cost effective and
easiest way is of course if you have a newer computer that has Bluetooth
built in, then all you have to do is pair it up. Our 2nd option is that
you can purchase a USB Bluetooth adapter such as the Plantronics
BUA-100, this adapter will plug into a usb port on your computer and
will pair up to your 510 headset. This is a nice clean solution because
it is “plug, pair, and play”… And you won’t have to add another cable to
the collection that you already have on your desk. Our 3rd option is to
use our Headsets Direct PC/Phone headset switch (05344-42). Now this is
a corded solution that will connect your 510S base to your computer and
your telephone. This will not be as seamless to use as a USB Bluetooth
adapter, but the advantage to this option is that it will connect almost
any of the Plantronics wireless and corded systems to your computer, and
it will even let you use your regular telephone handset if you would. So
check out the options on our website, and of course we are only a phone
call away to answer any questions that you may have.
November 14th, 2008
Q: We have Cisco IP Phones; do we need to invest in wide band
headsets for our phones?
A: If you have a newer, IP Phone System, wide band headsets will provide
improved audio quality and clarity. If you don’t have a phone system
that is wide band, purchasing a wide band headset may not result in a
noticeable difference for you.
November 13th, 2008

A: Yes, they will work just fine!
November 7th, 2008
Q: Is the Replacement Headset for the Plantronics CS50 and CS55
the same Headset?
A: No. They look alike but the Plantronics CS50 is wired just for that
unit and the Plantronics CS55 is wired just for that unit. If you
purchase the incorrect headset it will not link up with your base. We
offer a 60 Day Money Back Guarantee.
November 6th, 2008
Q: How do I connect my Plantronics “H” Series Headset to my PC?
A: There are a couple of ways: If you are going through the sound board,
you will need part # 28959-01, a quick disconnect cable with two 3.5mm
leads (one for the mic & one for the speaker). If you are connecting
through a USB Port, you can use any of Plantronics’ USB Adapters (DA40,
DA45, DA55, DA60) also available through our website:
www.headsetsdirect.com.
November 5th, 2008
Q: Is WindSmart the same as Noise Cancelling?

actively cancel out background noise.
November 4th, 2008
Q: What is the Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter?
A: The HL10 Handset Lifter accessory is designed to automatically lift
most standard telephone handsets off the cradle when activated by your
Plantronics wireless unit. Auto pickup of a ringing line needs to be
supported by your phone for this function to work.
November 3rd, 2008
Q: Can I use my “H” Series headset on my computer?

October 31st, 2008
Q: How do I know whether I need an amplifier or some other
connection for my phone when buying a headset?
A: To determine what you need to connect the headset to your telephone
you need to know the make and model of the phone. We can then check
compatibility and let you know what the best possible solution for your
particular need. You can call us at 800-914-7996 and we will be happy to
help you!
October 30th, 2008
Q: Can I use a noise cancelling microphone in a quiet
environment?
A: No, the microphone on a noise cancelling headset muffles the
background noise in your environment, if there is no background noise it
will muffle your voice making it hard for your caller to hear you.
October 30th, 2008
Q: What is the difference between the noise cancelling and voice
tube on the “H” Series Headsets?
A: The voice tube does not cancel out background noise. Any high level
of noise in the background will be able to be heard by the person on the
other end. The Noise Cancelling Microphone will cancel out about 75% of
your background noise, making it much easier for the person on the other
end to hear your voice clearly.
October 29th, 2008
Q: Can you use any Headset on your left ear, instead of your

A: Yes, on most Headsets it is just a matter of swiveling the boom 180
degrees.
October 27th, 2008
Q: What Headsets will work with my CA12CD?
A: Any of the H Series Headsets will work with the CA12CD.
October 24th, 2008
Q: I bought a replacement headset, part 45647-03 in May of this
year. Why does it only have a 60 day warranty?
A: The headset replacement is considered an accessory, it is not a
commercial grade headset. (Only Commercial Grade Headsets carry the
Plantronics 2yr Warranty) We offer our customers a 60 day money back
guarantee if the item fails.
October 24th, 2008
Q: I’m hearing buzzing through my wireless headset when I connect
it to my home office phone, that has additional remote stations. What
could my problem be?
A: Plantronics does not recommend any headsets for the base unit since
it’s wireless communication with the remote stations causes
interference. It’s okay to use headsets on the cordless units such as
the M175C or M220C.
October 23rd, 2008
Q: Is a handset lifter required to use a busy light with a
wireless unit?

Q: What is Wideband Technology?
A: The term refers to the audible frequency range for telephony.

Headset?

output volume control.
October 16th, 2008
Q: Can I use any Bluetooth headset with my 510S system?
A: Any Plantronics Bluetooth headset can be paired to the 510S base
unit, however, the base unit is designed specifically to hold the 510
headset and charge it. None of the other Plantronics Bluetooth headsets
will fit into the 510 holder with the connectors properly aligned to
charge the unit. Therefore you will need to charge your headset by some
other means, such as an AC adaptor or a USB adaptor, and then you will
need to pair up your headset with the base unit prior to using it.
October 15th, 2008
Q: With all of the headset choices out there, which headsets are
best for speech recognition software such as Dragon ?
A: The Plantronics’ .Audio DSP400 and the .Audio 750DSP computer
headsets are good choices. These headsets incorporate the DSP (Digital
Signal Processing) technology which gives you better microphone quality
than most other computer headsets on the market. These headsets also
have a very reasonable price point. For the absolute best mic quality,
you would want to use the commercial grade Plantronics DA60 (DSP) usb
headset adapter with one of the H-series headsets such as the HW251.
This is a great combination that has tested very high with the Dragon
software and will give you fantastic sound quality. Remember when it
comes to speech recognition, a little clarity can go a long way.
October 14th, 2008
Q: Will the PC/Phone Headset Switch work with my Cisco Phone?
A: The PC/Switch (part # 05344-42) will work if you’re plugging a
headset into the phone’s handset port. For example, most wireless
headsets using a handset lifter will work fine. The PC/Switch will not
work if you’re plugging your headset into the headset port and using a
pre-programmed headset button. This port is wired backwards from
traditional wiring thus not allowing corded headsets with a direct
connect cable to use the PC/Switch.
