The Calisto P240 handset is a slim line design that will fit nicely in your hand. It is smaller than most cordless phone handsets, but larger than most mobile phones. You can add a desktop stand that provides storage options for in-office use. The handset has  controls at your fingertips; like an on/off button , mute control, 12-key dial pad, speaker phone,  LCD screen for easy call ID viewing and menu navigation, just to mention a few.

The Calisto P240 handset has excellent audio quality using wideband and a noise-canceling microphone that offers the best PC audio available. SoundGuard provides protection against audio spikes.  With its built-in duplex personal speakerphone it offers a high quality audio experience and hands-free convenience.

The USB cord is simply a plug and play for easy use. The handset is powered by a USB connection and does not require batteries to operate. The handset comes with its own protective carrying case, and with its slim portable design, it will easily fit into a laptop bag for the times you need to be on the go.

Solution:  The Plantronics HL10 lifter is compatible with most of the Plantronics wireless headsets, and it will work with most phone systems that are compatible with our wireless headsets.  However, there are a few exceptions to this rule and it has to do with the physical design of your telephone.

The Plantronics HL10 is designed to lift the upper portion of the telephone handset so that you can answer the phone when you are away from your desk.  A few phone manufacturers came out with some “unique” designs that cause problems.  For example:

If your phone has the hook switch button located on the bottom end of the telephone handset, you won’t be able to take a call using this lifter because it lifts the top part of the handset-where most phones have the hook switch button located.

If your phone sits at a steep vertical angle, hangs on a wall, or does not have a “cup” to hold the bottom portion of the handset, then each time the HL10  lifts the top part of the handset up- – - the handset falls backwards.   (So you can imagine the consequences if your phone is hanging on the wall!)

Phones that have a curve on the left side of the phone base can also pose a small problem, because the HL10 lifter can’t attach as secure to a curved surface as it does to a straight edge.  However, the HL10 comes with an extender arm accessory  that can be used on these phones (like Nortel) which help the lifter to work.

But if you have a good old fashioned “average” looking phone, the HL10 will work great, and make your life a lot easier!

A: With the CS55/HL10 combination you will be connecting the wireless headset base to the phone where the handset is connected.  Think of it as a wireless extension of your handset. By reconnecting your handset to the front of your wireless headset base you now have a choice between headset and handset.

This will work with either a digital phone, like Cisco or Nortel, or an analog phone, like Avaya Partner or what you would have at home. Remember, if you are using this at home, your phone cannot have remote cordless units or any features on the handset.

1. On the main screen, press Menu (left soft key).

2. Use the navigator to scroll down and highlight Initial Setup, and press Select (right soft key).

3. Highlight Headset/Base, and press Select (right soft key).

4. Highlight Pair New Headset, and press Select (right soft key).

5. Select either of the following options:

Remove Headset: To manually remove a headset, highlight this option, press Select

(right soft key), and then press Delete (right soft key).

Pair Headset: To pair with a new headset, or to re-pair with your original headset if the icon is

consistently displayed on the screen (see “Troubleshooting” on page042 of the user guide), highlight this option, press Select (right soft

key), and follow the onscreen instructions. The steps are the same as in “Pairing your Calisto headset with your mobile phone” on page 12 (see steps 2 and 4).

1. On the main screen, press MENU (left soft key).

2. Use the navigator to scroll down and highlight Initial Setup, and press Select (right soft key).

3. Highlight Headset/Base, and press Select (right soft key).

4. Highlight Register to Base, and press Select (right soft key).

5. While the handset is in registration mode, press the handset locator button on the charging base until the screen shows registration is successful.

A: The HL10 Handset Lifter accessory is designed to automatically lift most standard telephone handsets off the cradle when activated by your Plantronics wireless unit. Auto pickup of a ringing line needs to be supported by your phone for this function to work.
