I have always wanted a Bluetooth headset that could just announce who is calling so I know whether I want to answer or not, especially if I am not near my phone. Well now Plantronics has created just that with the Voyager Legend Headset and the Voyager Legend UC B235 Headset. I am specifically going to talk about the Voyager Legend UC B235 Headset in this blog, as it also gives you the feature of using it with your computer and mobile phone. How does it work? The Voyager Legend UC B235 Headset will whisper an alert that announces your caller, as long as they are in your phone's contact list. It's that easy!

The Voyager Legend UC B235 Headset also has Smart Sensors and Smart Call Routing. What does this mean? It means it will recognize when the headset is on your ear, so it will know to send the call to your headset. If you take the headset off, even during the call, it will know to route the call to your phone, and vice-a-versa! This is such a great feature, because you won't need to scramble to find your phone or headset, the call will just be ready on the device you have handy.

These are just a few of the amazing features of the Voyager Legend UC B235 Headset, but you will want to check out all of the features at www.headsetsdirect.com.

Sleek and lightweight, and sporting all the latest Bluetooth communication technology, such as just saying "answer" to pick up a call, the Marque M155 was the ideal headset for today's smartphones. It even talked you through the pairing process. Now that Plantronics has released the new Marque 2 M165 Headset, what new features can today's smartphone users expect to see? While they share some of the same features, such as multipoint technology for connecting to two Bluetooth phones and the A2DP profile so you can hear your favorite tunes, watch videos or get driving directions, let's briefly review some of those cool new ones that make the new Marque 2 M165 Headset a must have for today's mobile professional.

1) For starters, it has two more hours of talk time (very helpful when you're on that lengthy conference call) and two extra days of standby time.

2) Another very helpful feature incorporated into the new Marque 2 M165 Headset is DeepSleep technology. The paired headset goes to sleep when it's out of range for over 90 minutes. It can provide up to 180 days of battery readiness.

3) It takes less time than the M155 to fully charge the battery, 90 minutes versus 2 hours. And speaking of the battery, when you pair the headset to your iPhone, there is an on-screen battery meter to let you know how much charge your headset has. On your Android this feature is enabled by the Plantronics app "Find MyHeadset".

So you see, just these new features make the Marque 2 M165 Headset a standout among today's new Bluetooth headsets. But there's more, such as voice commands you can give it and enhanced audio. So go to www.headsetsdirect.com and check out all the key features of this new headset, or give Headsets Direct a call at 800-914-7996.

First, you want to make sure you have the correct headset, since the CS50 Replacement Headset and the CS55 replacement headset for the wireless systems look identical but work on different frequencies, so they're NOT interchangeable. You can find the system model number on a label under the base. The CS50 Replacement Headset is part #64402-14; CS55 replacement headset is part #72195-03 (see links below). Confirm the correct headset with your invoice. If you have the wrong headset, contact your retailer to do the exchange. If everything is correct, let's get started.

The first thing is to start with a fully-charged headset. If you're needing to re-subscribe a headset, remove and re-install the battery of the headset (leave it disconnected for about 15 seconds). The battery is located in the headset under the grey cover with ribs on the sides. Be careful when removing the cover as it has two small fragile locking tabs. Doing this resets (clears) the headset and prepares it for subscribing. If you're working with a new headset, these steps are not necessary. Now carefully follow the subscription instructions below.

1) Return the headset to the headset base/charging cradle.

2) On the back of the base unit, press and hold both of the microphone (talk) volume buttons (+ and -) for a minimum of 5 seconds or until the red power indicator light in front of the base starts to flash. Release the buttons.

3) Push in and hold the black mute button on top of the headset for a minimum of 5 seconds, then release. The green talk light on the headset will light up. Please note that the flashing red power light and green talk light need to be on at the same time.

4) You have a successful subscription when the red power light on the base stops flashing and the green talk light on the headset goes off.

5) The last step is to unplug the AC power adapter for 5 seconds, then reconnect. You can unplug the cord either from under the wireless headset base or from the wall.

If you're still having problems, call Headsets Direct at 800-914-7996 for further help in getting your headset up and running again.

It's been some three years since Plantronics introduced the first truly wireless computer headset, the over-the-ear Savi W430. Not long after that they added the popular convertible model (three wearing styles), the Savi W440, which proved to be a boon to wireless computer headset communication. Well, they're at it again. In January of this year they introduced the two new models to the Savi 400 Series; the over-the-head Savi W410 (monaural) and the W420 (binaural) wireless computer headsets. Since they've expanded the Savi 400 Series, let's go over some of the features that make them the best in class in PC audio.

Enough talk time (W410, W420 9 hours; W430 6 hours; W440 7 hours -- unlimited with a hot swappable battery) to get you through a busy work day. Speaking of the swappable battery, this new feature from Plantronics allows you to change batteries in mid-conversation so you never lose contact with your caller. A deluxe charging cradle kit (battery included) is available for model W440 only.

All four models have a range of up to 300 feet and an energy efficient adaptive power system for longer talk and standby times by automatically downshifting to low power when the wireless headset is close to the base adapter.

They all have advanced wideband audio using Plantronics' exclusive CAT-iq technology for superior voice quality, enhanced DSP for a more natural sounding voice, and a noise-canceling microphone ensuring your caller always hears you clearly.

DECT technology gives you better audio eliminating interference with other wireless networks, Soundguard DIGITAL protects from too high sound levels, and Anti-Startle eliminates sudden increases in signal levels.

Of course there are more features, but you can see from what we've considered here why these wireless computer headsets are easily first in their class when it comes to managing PC and multi-media communication. Contact Headsets Direct at 800-914-7996 to discuss all the great features from Plantronics latest wireless computer headsets.

Tip #1 - This is the easiest tip you will ever implement because...it's built in and you don't need to do anything. Plantronics now uses an Adaptive Power System for all their new CS500 series headset.

Here's how the Adaptive Power System works: The closer the headset is to the charging base, the less battery power it uses. This extends your battery life and maximizes your talk time, up to 6-9 hours depending on which headset you're using. If the headset is used consistently at a longer range, more power is required and you will shorten you talk time. If you anticipate needing that extra range, make sure to select a model with the most battery talk time or consider a model with a hot-swappable battery for unlimited talk time (See Plantronics W745)

Tip# 2 - Another tip for extending your battery life -- anytime you are on a break, or just not using the headset for awhile, put it back on the charging cradle. This will help to insure you get the most talk time possible out of your headset. You will be amazed at the additional talk-time you gain for every 15 minutes of recharge when the headsets back in the charger.

Tip #3 - Replace your wireless batteries each year will make sure your getting the most talk-time our of your unit. Like mobile phones, tablets and other devices that we constantly charge in fear of being without for a day, that takes it's tole with the inner workings and the ability for a battery to hold a maximum charge. Over time that maximum charge diminishes and on occasion it's best to replace the batter with a fresh unit.

Buying batteries ahead of time and storing them on your shelf may result in a dead battery or shorter life span of the battery. I would not recommend purchasing a new battery for your wireless headset until you hear the warning signal (repeated beeping sound in your headset when in use). In most cases the warning signal (beeping) will begin in plenty of time for you to order a new replacement battery before the old one dies. Just a thought….

You need to monitor your employees for training purposes, or quality control monitoring, but you have found that the Y-Training Cord just adds another long cable to the mix. The thought has probably crossed your mind "How can you monitor employees with an easier, quicker, and less tangled mess of cables?" Or maybe you have upgraded your office or call center to a state-of-the-art wireless headset system and now you don't have cables...but you wonder how you can monitor wireless headsets with a Y-Training Cord. Fret not my friends, there is an answer, and it is as easy as it is cost efficient.

Here at Headsets Direct a Wireless Headset Training Adapter was created many years ago for internal purposes. Every time a new employee would start, we had to revert back to corded headsets so they could listen in on calls to learn our products and customer service. The original version was wires spliced together with duck tape so it's come along ways since then! The current version lets you mix and match various types of headsets and still be able to monitor your employees, regardless of whether it is corded or wireless! Don't get me wrong, the Y-Training Cord is, and has been, an excellent option for the purpose of monitoring calls, but if you are wireless, you will definitely need a different solution. So with that being said, let me tell you about the Headsets Direct Wireless Headset Training Adapter that you are going to love!

First and Foremost, the Wireless Headset Training Adapter is so small and light it can easily fit in the palm of your hand, so it will not take up any room on your desk. Another great feature, it can work with wireless and corded headsets -- even combined! Another beautiful thing about the adapter is a supervisor can actually walk around with their wireless headset and listen in, monitor, or take over a call with ease (which is priceless!)

Since the Wireless Headset Training Adapter has so many different scenarios of ways it can be used, and with so many different types of headsets, we have everything on our website that you could possibly need for setting up your call center. Here is the link that will take you to our website for installation instructions:
